All Saints Academy is currently accepting registration for the 2010-2011 school year. In the Early Childhood Program, there are
half-day and full-day options for three year old children, full-day options for four year old children and a full-day kindergarten
class for five year old children. We are also taking registrations for students in grades 1-8.

If you enjoy getting together with others and sharing your gifts, this is the group for you. St. Ann Church is looking for people who know a craft or have a hobby and would be willing to teach it to others. Instructors have already volunteered for the following projects: cake decorating, making pasta II, greeting cards, needlepoint, crocheting and tie die. Classes will be held from 10:00 am till noon in the Father Martin McDonnell Center, day of the week to be determined. If you are talented in making a craft or teaching a creative hobby such as photography or painting, please consider sharing your gift with St. Ann’s Craft Club. On Saturday, September 18 St. Ann Parishioners and friends are invited to join other parishes in the Paterson Diocese to make a pilgrimage to the national shrine in honor of Our Lady. Please set aside this date. For those interested in spending time sightseeing as well as visiting the Basilica, there are two trips available.
First, there is an overnight trip with the diocese September 18-19 which was described in the April 22 edition of the Beacon. Buses will leave parishes between 6 and 7 am Saturday and depart 5:00 pm Sunday. Cost per person ranges from $393 (single room) down to $250 (6 in a room). Price includes: transportation; Mass at the Basilica; hotel in D.C.; Saturday dinner; Sunday breakfast; Latin Mass at St. Matthew’s Cathedral; guided tour of monuments and memorials; tram-ride thru Arlington Cemetery; and a box lunch on Sunday. For those only wishing to go for the day pilgrimage, the cost is $40 (bus only) and will return Saturday between 8 pm and 9 pm.
St. Ann parishioners have also been invited to join Our Lady of Mercy’s trip which leaves Friday morning, September 17 and returns after the 2:00 pm Mass at the Basilica Saturday, September 18. This trip includes: transportation; lunch at Union Station Friday; tour of memorials and monuments; hotel in Virginia; dinner; after dark tour of D.C.; breakfast Saturday; morning sightseeing; Mass at the Basilica and bus home. If you ever visited Papyrus at Short Hills or the Papery in Denville then you know about designer cards. Come on Tuesday, August 3 to St. Ann’s Craft Club at 10:00 AM and design your own special occasion card. Carol Tiesi will show us how to create beautiful, one of a kind cards using scrap booking supplies, bits of lace, ribbon, bubbles, bangles and beads. Each participant is to bring Eileen Craft Glue, scissors, old cards, and any embellishments they can share. The cost of the class is $4. To register, call Carol at 973-887-4878.
St. Ann’s answer to Lydia’s Italian Cooking Show will take place on Wednesday, August 25 at 7:00 PM in the Fr. Martin McDonnell Center when Nancy Beneduce will allow you to experience the real essence of Italian cooking first hand. Nancy will provide all fresh ingredients to prepare brochette on garlic bread as well as gnocchi with pomadoro sauce and Macedonia (fresh fruit, amaretto, and mascarpone cheese) for dessert. Espresso coffee will finish off the meal. Participants need only bring along a healthy appetite and their own apron. BYOW if you like. Cost for this Italian culinary experience is only $20. Class is limited to 10. Be sure to call Nancy at 973-887-8923 before Monday, August 22 to register. The last cooking class was a sellout.

Calling all kids, age 8 and older, to join Rosalie DeNunzio for a morning of fun, painting and decorating wooden picture frames. When? Wednesday, August 11; time: 10:00 AM (after beauty sleep) till 12 noon (still time for the Mall or swimming); place: the air conditioned Fr. Martin McDonnell Center. Calling all women to lift your spirit, energize your body and refresh your soul at St. Ann’s 5 week course on kick boxing, cardio toning, core work, palates and gliding. Classes begin this fall on Thursdays at 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM from September 16 to October 14. They will be held in the Fr. Martin McDonnell Center and taught, on a rotating base, by Maria Parziale, Laurie Volltrauer and Ann Bacile, fitness instructors and St. Ann parishioners.
